With RS facing and smaller needles, k 36 (36, 36, 36, 40, 40, 44, 44) sts from back neck holder, pick up and k12 sts along side of left front neck, k 20 (20, 20, 20, 28, 28) sts from center front neck holder, pick up and k12 sts along side of right front neck—80 (80, 80, 80, 88, 88, 96, 96) sts.

Note: Mark the center 32 (35, 35, 37, 40, 40) sts. Neck shaping will begin after 10 rows of shoulder shaping have been worked.

Next row (WS) P18 (20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26), then purl across the 2nd set of 18 (20, 21, 23, 25, 26) sts— 36 (40, 42, 46, 49, 50, 52) sts on needle.

SHAPE ARMHOLE
Work decs armhole edge (beg of RS rows) same as back—26 (27, 27, 29, 30, 30, 31, 31) sts.

SHAPE NECK AND SHOULDER
